In continuation to my last attempt “An emblem of hope in the times of crisis” which addressed the tireless struggle of the honourable Emir of Kuwait as a “humanitarian leader” for promoting global peace & prosperity. However, this particular article is directed to explore the rationale which underpins my viewpoint suggesting- The Emir not only deserves to be nominated but an undisputed winner for Nobel peace prize 2015.

Contemplating the fact that Emir’s passion for promoting world peace and helping the humanity is purely selfless and beyond worldly rewards. Albeit, it remains a moral obligation for the global fraternity to acknowledge his contributions with the greatest mark of respect. Of late, I have realized that it’s very easy to make tall claims for making the world safer but an uphill task for actually translating those claims into tangible reality. In this context, His excellence Emir of Kuwait has emerged as a charismatic icon driven with a volte-force of practical manifestation. A man who believes sustainable peace is not earned through coercion but constructive measures; a strategy based on first identifying the root cause and then engaging through social development, poverty alleviation, human security and mutual respect.

Now let us examine the justification in support of my view point. Pragmatism as defined in terms of a realist paradigm is driven by a belief that in an anarchic international system, survival of the fittest prevails and states do whatever is necessary to ensure their survival. The rising urge for survival has unfolded a new world order based on lust of power and resources. Under the garb of making the world safer & peaceful, military as an instrument of policy is being used basically in quest of geo-politico/economic gains. This arise a set of few fundamental questions; do realists live in a peaceful world today? Can you possibly make your world safer at the cost of destroying others? Does not violence breeds violence? Is the economic system which makes poor poorer and wealthy wealthier a just system? The unfortunate reality of the world today is to eliminate the symptoms of disease but not the root cause which ultimately results in causing more disease until it gets untreatable.

The contribution of his excellence Emir of Kuwait as a humanitarian leader is an unprecedented answer to aforementioned questions. His acts of generosity for helping the weaker nations are not just an expression of humanity but a broader strategy of conflict resolution through a wide array of social development. The amount of economic aid he has channelized in the war torn regions of Syria & Palestine and devastatingly poor countries of Africa is part of his broader vision to promote peace & stability. The ripple effect of his acts of charity has now travelled deeper in the entire asia-pacific region. People from all cultures, religions and ethnicities revere him as a world leader whose philosophy of realism is not interest based but rather propagate survival beyond geographical boundaries.

In my view, the amount of destruction being caused in the world today is the re-emergence of dark ages. God has been so kind to bless us with a world where we can breathe freely but how miserably we have incapacitated each other’s breathing space. Literally, human lives are priceless and principles of morality have been debilitated. However, in these desperate times it is heartening to see a leader like His excellence who is not only preserving the very foundation of life but rejuvenating the real essence of peace. In this quest for making a world a safer place, let us embrace the Emir’s philosophy and the least we could do is to pay the greatest tribute to Emir in the form of a Nobel Peace prize. He is indeed a charismatic icon of peace & harmony and an undisputed ‘prince of humanity’ as declared by United Nations. In the end, I would like to cordially wish my Kuwaiti brother & sisters a very happy 54th independence and 24th liberation day. May His excellence & the State of Kuwait always prosper and live long.
