It was a special night indeed. Stars from various parts of the world descended in Dubai for a great cause. And the cause was furthering education.
The 2016 Global Education and Skills Forum summit brought together Hollywood A-listers Matthew McConaughey and Salma Hayek, Bollywood superstars Abhishek Bachchan, Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra and from Pakistan our very own rockstar actor, Ali Zafar.
Being a part of the cause, Ali was invited to perform at the prestigious event that not only played host to top celebrities from across the world, but also has the patronage of world leaders from the Pope to Prince William to former British premier Tony Blair as well as big names from global education.
Ali brought the house down with his energetic performance that included his own hits, including ‘Madhubala’, as well as classic Bollywood tunes. The biggest names in entertainment and education together shook a leg to Ali’s dance numbers, especially Mathew McConaughey, who along with his gorgeous wife Camila Alves joined Ali, Abhishek and Parineeti on stage to dance to the Bollywood hit from Don, ‘Khai ke Paan Banaraswala’ that Ali sang to a roaring applause.
There were selfies galore and discussion on education backstage at the event. Ali spoke to the Oscar-winner Matthew at length about education and the movement ‘Girl Rising’.
