Hernando Herrera (né en 1945), artiste français, d'origine vénézuélienne, vit et travaille à Paris depuis 1984. 

La thèse fondamentale de son œuvre se synthétise dans l'idée que la toile n'est plus un écran où s'exprime un état mental ou la perception d'un instant, mais plutôt un domaine où se définit et se réalise une situation spatiale offerte comme perception esthétique par l'interaction de formes géométriques simples avec des couleurs. 

Sa recherche se porte sur la couleur et son langage, notamment le rapport couleur/lumière par induction, transparence, chromographie et interférence, en créant un mouvement chromatique du tableau perçu par l’œil du spectateur en fonction de son déplacement. 

Depuis 2013, après avoir exprimé la confluence des formes géométriques avec les couleurs, il a commencé à étudier et à maitriser l'utilisation des nouvelles technologies lui permettant de concevoir des myriades de possibilités dans sa création et de les appliquer sur des supports aussi variés que le plexiglas, l'aluminium, la toile ou le papier.

Hernando Herrera (born in 1945), French artist of Venezuelan origin, lives and works in Paris since 1984. 

The fundamental thesis of his painting work results from the idea that the canvas is no longer a screen where is expressed either a mental state or a perception of an instant, but rather a field where a spatial situation is being defined and fulfilled as an aesthetic perception through the interaction of plain geometric forms with colors. 

His research is based on the color and its language, notably the ratio color/light through induction, transparency, chromography and interferences, creating a chromatic motion into the picture perceived by the travelling spectator's eyes. 

Since 2013, extending the confluent expression between geometric shapes and colors, he began the study and expertise of new technologies that allow him to conceive myriads of possibilities in his creation and to apply them to medias as varied as plexiglas, aluminium, canvas, or paper.
